Psalm 1

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly – Lord, help me to exercise wisdom when choosing who to seek and receive counsel from. I desire to seek only godly counsel and to be blessed!

Nor standeth in the way of sinners – Lord I know You call us to be in the world but not of the world. Help me to love the sinners – to welcome them and woo them with Your love – yet to be set apart.

Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful – scorn is a mix of anger and disgust. So essentially it is judgment and criticism. Help me Lord not to have a critical spirit. But to see with Your eyes. And to lead others in this path.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord – Lord increase my live of Your word. Help me to desire to read it more. Is that a desire You give? Or is it from something else? Will You show me? I want to love it more. To delight is to take great pleasure in. I want to take great pleasure in Your word. Not to feel like it’s a chore (not that I do so much, but I don’t take the pleasure I should). Help me to delight in it!

On His law he meditates day and night -yes Lord. I do meditate on Your thoughts, words, and deeds. Help it to be even more so. Deeper revelations!

He shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water, that brings forth fruit in season – I want to bear fruit!!! Lord help me to be firmly planted.

His leaf shall not wither – Lord keep me from anything that would seek to harm me.

Whatever he does shall prosper – yes Lord, may all I set my hand to prosper. And to You be all the glory!!!

Amen.

  1. I really like how you broke this down. Are you learning this in the prayer room? It’s pretty cool. Makes me want to do it more… it’s always been an easy way to pray. Just tell God what he already said. 🙂
