Had a bizarre bout with anxiety yesterday. I’m not one who typically struggles with it so it’s presence was easily noticeable and NOT appreciated.
I know this is something many people deal with, and I know most of us know the bible says not to be anxious, but I wanted to take a quick peek about what the word says on this topic. Here’s the gist of what I found:
Proverbs 12:25
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.Isaiah 35:4
Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your Godwill come with vengeance, with the recompense of God.He will come and save you.”Matthew 6:27
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?Matthew 6:34
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.Philippians 4:6
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.1 Peter 5:7
casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you
I think they speak for themselves so…
Lord, forgive us for being anxious. We know we’re to give anxiety to You and rest in You, but sometimes that seems so hard! Help us to lay it down and receive Your faithful peace.
I pray all those reading walk in an abundance of Your peace Lord. Let them be beacons of hope for those who struggle with this because of their amazing victories! Have Your way Lord – be glorified.
When we speak faith in the midst of anxious times we shine bright and are beacons of hope for those around us. How we live and how we speak reveals how big our God is. REST in the great big arms of God. Nothing can pluck you out of His hand. Amen Amen.
Good Word, Meghan.
thank you for sharing the Scriptures, I think I needed to see them today.
