Understanding Our Part (1 Cor 3:6)

Thursday, 5 September 2013 | 4 Comments »

Too often we view our calls as individual things to be achieved rather than a piece of a Master’s plan to accomplish a greater goal. Ironically our singular focus often ends up hurting ourselves when the Father doesn’t do things the way we expect Him to. The fact is we like to finish things. In part because we really like the sense of achievement and victory that comes when we do. Sometimes our desire to be the one who finishes something actually can hinder the work of the Father. » more »

Pruned by the Word (John 15:3)

Thursday, 1 August 2013 | 1 Comment »

I’m continuing to meditate on John 15, pondering abiding and bearing fruit. As I considered how one bears fruit, Father reminded me that we are pruned that we might bear more fruit. Then He highlighted verse 3 (AMP): » more »

El Roi [the God Who Sees]

Sunday, 2 December 2012 | 3 Comments »

Since I got a strong word of exhortation on Friday, the Father has had me pondering one of His names: El Roi, which means the God Who Sees.  This comes from Genesis 16:13 where Hagar has run away from Sarai for being cruel (which you may remember I blogged on about this time last year). The Lord gives Hagar a word and part of her response is:

Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees”… » more »

What’s Required (Luke 12:48)

Wednesday, 8 August 2012 | 4 Comments »

Yesterday, I was sharing with a friend a story Rick Joyner shared in his book The Final Quest.  When I first read the book years ago, it touched me greatly. But the story that impacted me the most is one he shares near the end that helps rightly align our way of seeing things to how the Father sees. » more »

Arguing (1 Peter 3:15)

Monday, 6 August 2012 | 1 Comment »

My heart is so burdened today about all the arguing going on within the body of Christ, and even with the world. John 13:35 ESV says

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. » more »

Who Will You Worship

Wednesday, 1 August 2012 | 7 Comments »

The topic on my heart today is worship. This isn’t completely surprising since that’s the heart of Dyed4you Ministries and D4Ymin is my life :)

But today I want to challenge us to consider who we are actually giving our praise to.  I know most who follow this blog or are part of the D4Y Community would quickly answer (as I would) that their praise goes to the Lord alone.  But I want to pause and ask does it really…? » more »

Joy of the Lord is my Strength (Nehemiah 8:10)

Saturday, 28 July 2012 | 10 Comments »

I asked the Father last night what He wanted me to blog on today so I could start meditating on it and He said “the joy of the Lord is my strength.” I proceeded to go find the psalm that was in (though I can quote scripture all day I am not good at remembering WHERE things are in scripture) only to discover the oft quoted scripture isn’t in Psalms at all! It comes from the latter part of Nehemiah 8:10. Here it is in the Amplified:

…And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold. » more »

Vanity (Pride)

Wednesday, 15 February 2012 | 15 Comments »

Father completely checked me the other day through the mouth of someone I respect. (Yes, He chastens those He loves.) I was sharing about how I’ve been walking through a process of breaking free from people pleasing. I’m SO much better than I was, but the fact is there’s still more there, and frankly it needs to go. Father apparently agreed because He chose that moment to bring the root to light, and that light is expelling darkness.

He said what I struggled with was a form of pride. Not pride as in arrogance, pride as in caring too much what others think. Pride as in vanity. » more »

Bringer of Temptations (Matthew 18:7)

Thursday, 28 July 2011 | 4 Comments »

I’ve been chewing on a verse since yesterday that has me pondering what my actions cause.  The verse is Matthew 18:7 and I’ve bolded the part that has me thinking:

Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes! » more »

Grumbling about Leaders (Num 21 & 1 Cor 10:9)

Tuesday, 12 July 2011 | 12 Comments »

In the US, we all feel VERY entitled to our thoughts and opinions, and we too often make ourselves free to share them – whether they be good or bad. And though the constitution may support our rights to do so, let’s pause and consider if God does.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. (1 Corinthians 10:9) » more »
