20140109-141722.jpgToday I picked up a silver tray I’ve had sitting out in my home and had a moment of frustration about the tarnish on it. It is very common to hear the analogy drawn of silver being refined in fire, but today as I looked at the tarnish and pondered why God created silver to tarnish – He gave me another analogy that ties in with my previous post Growing Cold. » more »

What’s Required (Luke 12:48)

Wednesday, 8 August 2012 | 4 Comments »

Yesterday, I was sharing with a friend a story Rick Joyner shared in his book The Final Quest.  When I first read the book years ago, it touched me greatly. But the story that impacted me the most is one he shares near the end that helps rightly align our way of seeing things to how the Father sees. » more »

Body Ministering to the Body

Thursday, 28 June 2012 | 4 Comments »

This morning I’m pondering how beautiful it is when the Father ministers through the body of Christ to the body of Christ.  Over a week ago the Father put it on my heart to send something to a friend.  Last night, she called in distress over something that had happened to her, I comforted her with my words, but the ache was still there.

Today my package arrived along with another package He’d put on someone else’s heart to send that had something in it that was VERY specifically replacing something the friend had willing lay down in the difficult moment and to top it off someone else sent a text of encouragement. Not one of the 3 had known the situation my friend would be in or that today especially she would need a hug from Abba, but out of obedience each did their part and so a hurting member of the body received ministry.  This is as it should be. » more »

In the last few days, I’ve had a couple object lessons from the Father that made the same point, so I feel like He’s leading me to share. It’s all about little things mattering :) » more »

Free to Choose Closeness

Saturday, 27 November 2010 | 3 Comments »

God’s been using my puppy again to show me His heart.

Since I’m working from home full-time now, I’m here a lot. This means Sketch and I are in the same vicinity a lot. I love having my puppy close by. It makes it easy to have little lovin’ breaks, which are a nice pause to the day’s activities. We read each others non-verbals well; volumes can be communicated by a single stare. The closeness is a gift. » more »

For the last 8 days I’ve had a bone where my neck meets my shoulders out of alignment. It has commanded my attention constantly in waking and sleeping hours by varying amounts of discomfort – from short bursts to debilitating pain. » more »

Whining and Complaining (Phil 2:14)

Wednesday, 12 May 2010 | 1 Comment »

God loves to use my dog, Sketch, as an object lesson to show me how things we do effect Him. Today is one such example. While I was in the middle of something, Sketch informed me he wanted to go out. » more »

Tonight when I got home my dog (Sketch) followed me upstairs to my office – it’s not something he normally does. He lay quietly waiting as I worked on the computer for several hours. » more »

Releasing What’s “Mine”

Wednesday, 9 December 2009 | 4 Comments »

I had a moment with the dog (Sketch) today that God used to highlight an interesting point to me.

I went to join Sketch on the floor for a moment of snuggles, his bone on the floor next to him. As I got down by his head as we typically do he had a moment where he turned to protect his bone from me. » more »

Signs & Wonders vs. Intimacy

Tuesday, 25 November 2008 | 9 Comments »

So this morning I’m sitting on my couch trying to have a good snuggle with my big, beautiful, furry pooch. Only one problem. He’s not remotely interested. All he can do is stare at the ceiling and wait for the light spot to appear.

You see the room is flooded with that bright mid-morning light, which Sketch (my 115 lb Rottweiler) knows is particularly good at reflecting off iPods, cell phones, silverware and the like. He is expectant. Chasing the light has become his favorite game. The moment seems right so he is eagerly waiting… and looking to me, because he knows I make the light appear. » more »
