My First Sukkot

Sunday, 23 October 2011 | 12 Comments »

This month I got the pleasure of celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) for the first time.  My church observed it by all going camping together for the 8 day feast (with a set up and tear down/clean up day on each end making it 10 days total).

I confess I was pretty freaked out about going on many levels (I hadn’t camped in 23 years!), but at the same time I knew He was calling me to step out and do it – so I trusted Him and stepped in faith. » more »

I was watching some videos from our church (Passion for Truth) and happened upon this clip from worship which captures a moment with Allen and I praying at the front – it was a sweet moment and it was fun it was captured :) » more »

Irrevocable Gifts/Callings (Romans 11:29)

Friday, 5 August 2011 | 16 Comments »

I have spent the last week rereading my journals at the Lord’s direction, which start in 1987 when I was 16.  I’ve read in order up to within a few years ago (I’m still reading), and it’s been eye opening to say the least.  Amazing how differently we remember things from how they actually happened – something I’m told has to do with self-preservation.

I’m sure there will be longer blogs about my past later, but the thought I wanted to capture aligns with Romans 11:29 » more »

Conflict (Proverbs 27:17)

Thursday, 9 June 2011 | No Comments »

I have to be honest and say I am not a big fan of conflict.  I grew up in a household where basically no one ever disagreed, so it does not feel natural for me to be in the midst of conflict, even when it’s healthy.

However, it seems the Lord has decided it’s time for me to get used to it! LOL :) » more »

Minding the Thorns (Leviticus 26)

Wednesday, 4 May 2011 | 1 Comment »

Hosea 2:6 is a favorite verse of mine because it demonstrates a principle of how God works: He will hinder our way to keep us from going the wrong way.

Therefore I will hedge up her way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, so that she cannot find her paths. » more »

Unity & Repositioning

Tuesday, 3 May 2011 | 7 Comments »

I admit, I’m not a big fan of change. But I’ve learned over the years to trust the Lord when He brings it knowing that His plans for me are good. And well… He has some change afoot for me (and my hubby) now.

Performance & Love

Monday, 23 August 2010 | 4 Comments »

During the last 9 months, God’s really been dealing with me on the issue of performance.  As I shared back in February, I struggle with a “guilty conscious” thing – God’s brought a lot of healing, but I know that one of the areas I still struggle (despite it being less so than before) is in tying performance to love and acceptance.  In other words, the ungodly belief that when you do “good” you’re loved and when you don’t you’re not. » more »

Struggling with Needing to “Do”

Monday, 26 April 2010 | No Comments »

I admit it. I feel better, more accomplished, when I’m DOING something. Couple that with the fact that I often get praise and encouragement on the things I “do” and it only makes me all the more inclined to stay busy “doing”. » more »

Closeness

Tonight when I got home my dog (Sketch) followed me upstairs to my office – it’s not something he normally does. He lay quietly waiting as I worked on the computer for several hours. » more »
